Encuentro Audiovisuales de Jóvenes

Hoy he podido acercarme a ver cortos en el MVIM los encuentros audiovisuales de jóvenes y me ha sorprendido lo bien que manejan el lenguaje fílmico para llevarnos por sus historias. El futuro parece prometedor. No hay lugar a dudas! Entre ellos los siguientes cortos:

Today I had the chance to visualize short films from youth directors and I was grately surprised how Well they worked with the filming language to guide us through their stories. The future seems promising. No doubt about it! Alone, Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera Luis Vives. This are the short films:

Como era de esperar ha sido un encuentro jocoso e improvisado en donde se ha hablado sobre temas interesantes y otros no tanto. La risa ha sido la protagonista y por supuesto también ha tenido su cuota de protagonismo la horchata. Gracias cinemajove por oportunidades como éstas porque a los que comenzamos nos acercan a nuestras aspiraciones y nos hacen sentir, por un momento, que con empeño todo es posible.

As it was expected, it was a meeting in a joyful and totally improvised atmosphere where they touched many interesting topics and others not that so. The laugh was the protagonist and of course, so it was "the horchata". Thanks cinemajove for opportunities like this one, in wich we feel closer to our ilusions and for a moment we feel everything is possible!

Errance Peter Dourountzis, Francia. interesantes encuadres subjetivos que nos ayudan a ponernos en la piel del vagabundo. La música sugestiva y acompaña al ritmo de la película. Muy buenas tomas y refleja muy bien la necesidad del contacto humano sufrida por el joven vagabundo. La intensidad creciente del suspenso nos indican que pronto sucederá lo peor. Bien ejecutado.

Der Damm Nikolaus Müller, Austria. La historia se quedó a medio camino, desde mi humilde punto de vista. Podría haber tenido mucha más fuerza y habernos inquietado un poco más. Sin embargo, muy buen etalonage y composición. La diversidad de planos nos ayuda a comprender la historia.

Golanii Bogdan Drumea, Rumania.  Muy buena realización. La música acompaña y las diversas tomas muestra verdaderamente la relación entre los hermanos. Se puede ver la cultura Rumana reflejada en el corto. Muy buen trabajo.

Fuligem David Doutel, Vasco Sá, Portugal. Excelente corto de animación. Muy interesante propuesta. Dibujos magníficos, llenos de detalles y coloridos. Se ve reflejado el arduo trabajo realizado. Emociona, inquieta y enternece.

Starman Josema Roig, España. Muy buena realización. Nos intriga y hasta nos inquieta hasta que salta el protagonista con su moto. Tensión creciente muy bien conseguida. Muy buena iluminación, interesantes tomas.

Errance Peter Dourountzis, Francia. Interesting shots in over the shoulder wich take us exactly into his way of living. The music is sugestive and follows the rithm of the movie. Very good variety of shots and frames which goes along with the story about the need of other human being suffered by the homeless. The intensity grows until we don't doubt that something really bad is about to happen. Very well done!

Der Damm Nikolaus Müller, Austria. The story was left midway, from my humble point of view. It could have had more strength and tense us a bit more. However, the etalonage and composition where really good. The diversity of frames help us to understand the story,

Golanii Bogdan Drumea, Rumania. Very well made. The music goes along with the rithm and the diverse shots show us the relationship between the brothers. We can perfectly see the rumanian culture here. Very good work!

Fuligem David Doutel, Vasco Sá, Portugal. Excelent animation short film. The drawings marvellous, full of detail and color. We can see the restless work behind the scenes. It soften us, disturb us and it tender us again. Very interesting.

Starman Josema Roig, España. Great piece. It intrigues us and agitates us until the protaginst jumps with his bike. The suspense is very well built. Great ilumination, interesting shots.

Ha'bikur Inbar Horesh, Israel. Ritmo apaisado con un cierre circular nos adentra en la situación q viven nuestros mayores en las residencias de ancianos. Buena iluminación, interesantes planos y muy buena actuación!.

Bienvenidos Javier Fesser , España.Una historia totalmente conmovedora contada desde la perspectiva inocente de una niña del Perú. Nos cuestiona sobre la necesidad de tecnología, su utilidad, el tercer mundo y la inmigración. Perfectamente ejecutado. Excelente fotografia, excelente guión, encuadres magníficos, ritmo dinámico y creativo. Maravilloso trabajo.

Dissonance Till Nowak, Alemania. Fantástica animación donde se entremezclan realidad y ficción. Preciosa mezcla, efectos increíbles y verdaderamente nos hace perdernos entre la ficción y la realidad. Absolutamente sensible y asombroso.

La bambina - bache ALI ASGARI, Italia, Irán. Inquietante historia. Bien realizado y buen ritmo conseguido.

Wu Gui Jordan Schiele, China. Fotografía interesante y casi minimalista. Muy bien iluminado y realizado. El guión podría haber destacado algo más.

Sinécdoque. Una historia de amour fou. Jose Manuel Carrasco, España. interesante propuesta a base de diálogos y fuera de campo. Interesantes primeros planos. me gustó particularmente el giro inesperado que nos lleva a querer volver a ver el corto por si se nos ha escapado algo. Muy creativo. La sencillez de su elaboración ayuda a la complejidad del mensaje. Me encantó!.


Ha'bikur Inbar Horesh Israel. Slow pace with a circular ending, it takes us in the situation of how our Elderly people live in some elderly houses. Good ilumination, interesting shoots and very good acting!.

Bienvenidos Javier Fesser, España. A trully emotional story told by the innocence of a child from Peru. Makes us question about the utily of technology, the need of power, the inmigration and the third world. Perfectly made. Excelent photography, excelent script, marvellous shoots, dinamic rithm and trully creative. Wonderful work.

Dissonance Till Nowak, Alemania.  Fantastic animation where fiction and reality blenders. Beautiful mix, incredible visual effects. We actually get confused between the ficción and reality. Absolutely sensitive, creative and astonishing.

La bambina - bache ALI ASGARI, Italia, Irán. Disturbing story. Very good made and good rithm acomplished.

Wu Gui Jordan Schiele, China. Interesting photography and nearly minimalist. Very well illuminated and completed. The script could have been highlighted a bit more, but in general very well made.

Sinécdoque. Una historia de amour fou Jose Manuel Carrasco, España. A very interesting aproach using dialogues, minimal complements and offscreen to transport us into different scenarios. Interesting closeups. I particularly liked the final twist which makes want to watch it again in case we have missed something. Very creative. The simplicity of the piece helps the complexity of the message. I loved it!.

Fiesta Inauguración... Opening Festival

Anoche atendí a la fiesta de inauguración que se celebró en el Teatro Principal. Fue bastante concurrido y la atmósfera fue fantástica! Todos fueron verdaderamente amigables y deseosos de hablar de cine y de lo que el festival traerá consigo. Rafael Maluenda estuvo fantástico: sencillo y cálido. La ceremonia entera fue muy acogedora. CIMA estuvo allí también presentando su jurado dado que este año será por primera vez que se premie a la mujer cineasta..

Luego, vimos el corto "Jingle" Marta Aledo. Un trabajo genial en diálogos y fotografía. La cercanía de los primeros planos le dieron la intensidad necesaria. Un ritmo perfecto. Me encantó! Después, vimos "Radiator" Tom Browne. Un largometraje lento, que ayudó a la construcción del carácter de los personajes. Me gustó la iluminación de los interiores y la fotografía.

I atended last night the opening of the festical de cinemajove in Teatro Principal. It was packed with people and the atmosphere was fantastic! Everyone was trully friendly and eager to talk about movies and what the festival might bring within. Rafael Maluenda was superb: simple and warm. The whole ceremony was welcoming. CIMA was there two presenting their jury since it will be the first year they will be giving the prize to a woman director..

Then, we watched the short film "Jingle" Marta Aledo. A great work in script and photography. The closeness of the shoots gave the film intensity among with the tempo in the secuencies. I loved it!. After that, we watched "Radiator" Tom Browne. A very low pace movie, wich help to build the character of the magnificent actors! I liked the ilumination in the interior of the building and the photography.

Programa de Cortos Valencianos en sala San Jose Sancho

Ayer por la tarde tuve el agrado de ver "El último abrazo", una historia contada de forma muy original, con todos los elementos de una reportaje de investigación. Muy completo y con un toque emocional que logra conquistar a la audiencia. Verdaderamente nos hace a todos partícipes de la aventura. "Fieras", Luis Eduardo Pérez Cuevas, una historia al principio algo lenta, aunque es intencional para reflejar la vida de María a la perfección. Excelente fotografía y encuadres. El ritmo del principio, contrarresta con el final... muy bien ejecuta, en hora buena! "Gea", Jaime Maestro. increíble los dibujos y la animación. La creatividad es sorprendente y los colores acertadísimo, no dejas un segundo de mirar los detalles de semejante desparpajo. Me encanto! "La nit de l´Oceá", María Lorenzo Hernández... a modo de dibujos acuarelados, y trazos desenfados nos lleva por la historia de su protagonista en relación con el mar. Pura creatividad y extraordinario trabajo! "Un par de ciegos", David Esquivel. Muy sencilla la trama pero muy real. La diversidad de planos medios y cortos desde diferentes ángulos y los diálogos hacen que sea un gran corto. "La buena fe", Begoña Soler Ochando, magnífico corto de humor y drama a la vez. Nos hace pensar en el futuro desde el punto de vista de la salud. El humor situado en el tempo justo para producir una carcajada honesta. excelente fotografía, actuación y guion. En muy buena hora!! "Reinserción" David Linuesa Moratalia. Historia muy bien contada con planos y fotografía muy buenos! <b>"La maquina de los rusos" Octavio Guerra, interesante propuesta con una muy buena realización.

En general, mi sensación ha sido que en Valencia hay muchas ganas de trabajar, profesionales de lujo y que no dudo que dentro de poco serán reconocidos en mas festivales de renombre. Ojala hubieran mas ayudas a esta industria para que dichos directores y profesionales con ideas creativas puedan llegar a ser lo que potencialmente prometen... y no es poco... para muestra un botón!!

Yesterday evening I was happy to enjoy "El último abrazo", a very original short film told in a documental language. It had every detail as if it was a detective investigation. Very complete and with an emotional touch wich gave it a plus to the audience. "Fieras", Luis Eduardo Pérez Cuevas, at the begining a bit slow pace, but intentional and useful to characterizise the life of Maria. Marvelous photography and shots. Very well done, congratulations! "Gea", Jaime Maestro. amazing drawings, animation and pure technology!! The creativity in its maximum exponent. I loved it!! "La nit de l´Oceá", María Lorenzo Hernández. With drawings in a watercolour format tell us a story of a man and his relationship with the sea. Pure creativity and extraordinary piece of work! "Un par de ciegos", David Esquivel. Very simple but real short film and yet, with the diversity of shots, diverse angles and with an interesting script, makes it a very welldone short film. "La buena fe", Begoña Soler Ochando, hillarious piece of art. It makes us think in the close future and the need to relate with other humans. excelent fotography, script and acting! Congratulations!! "reinserción" David Linuesa Moratalia. Story very well told with shots and photography! "La maquina de los rusos" Octavio Guerra, interesting proposal with a very good outcome.

In general, my sensation has been that in Valencia there are excelent profesionals, with plenty of talent to work and I have no doubt that shortly they will be recognized in other festivals, too. Hopefully, there would me more help to this young public so it would be easier for them to achieve their promising future... wich is not little!

La Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas y de Medios Audiovisuales (CIMA) entregará este año un premio especial a la mejor película dirigida por una mujer. La escultora y ceramista valenciana Amparo Boluda ha sido la encargada de diseñar el galardón.
